Benfica could be set to capture Almeria playmaker Pablo Piatti after tabling a €7 million for the Argentine, according to O Jogo.

Despite Almeria's relegation from La Liga last season, the 22-year-old impressed for the Andalucian club, scoring a total of eight league goals in 35 appearances.

Reports from Portugal state that Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has identified Piatti as a possible replacement for Javier Saviola, who has been linked with a move to the UAE.

O Jogo comment that Almeria will not accept any offer under €10m as doing so would mean the club would incur a loss on the €7m Almeria paidd for Piatti two years ago, due to his former club Estudiantes earning 25 per cent of any future sale.

Piatti is attracting interest from other European sides, including Serie A club Udinese, who have qualified for next season's Champions League.

The agent of Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi, Andrea Pastorello, has cast doubt over the possibility of the Italian striker joining Barcelona during this summer transfer window.

Despite the Camp Nou giants having a €45 million war chest to improve their squad, bringing in both Udinese's Alexis Sanchez and Rossi is not likely, according to the representative.

Barca are thought to be closing in on Sanchez, and Marca reports that Pastorello said: ''Rossi signing for Barca would be very difficult. If there is €45m to sign [new players] and Alexis goes to Barca for €30m then there is no money to pay for the transfer of Rossi.''

The agent insists it is up to Barcelona whether they want to sign the American-born forward or not, adding: "If the club wants Rossi, they must prove it. But if not, nothing happens. They are free to sign whoever they want.  There will be no problem, football is football.''

Pastorello concluded by saying that if a move to Catalunya does not materialise, the 24-year-old could ''wait another year with Villarreal".

The Italian, who enjoyed a superb season in La Liga with the club from El Madrigal, scoring 32 goals in all competitions, was thought to be Barca's prime transfer target, but it now appears that they have turned their attention elsewhere.

Coach Jose Mourinho is rumored to be off the 4-2-3-1 formation, and play with a 4-3-3 system in the next season.

Marca reported alteration is done intentionally to make room for Nuri Sahin in the middle of midfield Los Blancos.

Last season, 4-2-3-1 system consists of Iker Casillas, defender of four parallel; Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Ricarco Carvalho, and Marcelo. Two defensive midfielders; Xavi Alonso and Sami Khedira, while Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, and Cristiano Ronaldo, playing behind Karin Bemzema - lone striker.

These changes will not impact on the back line, but giving additional force in the midfield and forward.

Khedira will likely be shifted to the right, Alonso ketengah, and Sahin on the left. Ozil, Benzema, and Ronaldo, the three strikers. Kaka or Di Maria would be an alternative for Ozil

If Mourinho plays the new system, the formation in the starting line-up is Casillas; Ramos, Pepe, Riccardo Carvalho, Marcelo; Khedira, Alonso, Sahin; Ozil, Benzema, Ronaldo.
