You Are Here: Home - All , Premier League - QPR will be playing their opening game at home

Manager of newly-promoted QPR, Neil Warnock, has expressed his delight that his team will be playing their opening game in the Premier League at home.

The Championship winners will play Bolton Wanderers on the first day of the new season, and Warnock believes the support of their fans will give his players’ confidence a big boost.

Warnock told the club’s official website:  "It's always nice to start with a home fixture, so I'm delighted we'll be at Loftus Road on the opening weekend.

"It feels as though all the hard work we put in last season really means something now.

"Seeing the fixtures in black and white makes it seem more real."

Warnock also paid tribute to his counterpart at Bolton, Owen Coyle, who will begin his second full season as manager at the Reebok Stadium.

Warnock said:  "Owen has done an unbelievable job there.

"They've got into the Premier League and now they're fully established.

"They were very unlucky to miss out on Europe last season with their excellent run in the FA Cup.

"I don't think there are any easy games in the Premier League, but being at home on the first day is always a bonus."
