French midfielder Mathieu Flamini is eager to extend his stay with AC Milan after a successful 2010-11 season.

Flamini, who joined the Italian champions from Arsenal in 2008 as a free agent, has one more year left on his current contract.

The 27-year-old made 22 league appearances last season, playing an important role in Milan’s first Serie A title win since 2004. He also featured in five Champions League matches.

Flamini is now hopeful of winning European silverware with Milan, and told La Corriere dello Sport: "It is my intention to remain at this club and extend my agreement with Milan.

"There is no rush, though. We will speak in the future when the right time arrives. After winning the league title this year, I want to try to win the Champions League."
